hair/scalp care w/ psoriasis ?

I have psoriasis on my scalp, so I use dermarest shampoo on my scalp, then I use regular conditioner. I really want to get away from using that stuff. My hair gets really frizzy/dry b/c it's coarse and curly. I stopped using conventional hair products years ago; now all I use is jojoba oil, sometimes with rosemary or lavender EO.
I'm trying to figure out what is the best route to take w/regard to shampoo & conditioner.
Does anyone have any idea how psoriasis of the scalp reacts to, say, baking soda or acv?

I suffer from the same thing you do, so it seams. When I went "no poo", it seemed to have gotton so much better, for awhile. It did come back though. Now I rotate through bs/acv and a more natural shampoo and sometimes conditioner regimine. I'd be interested in hearing what others have to say.

I used to have very bad psoriasis on my scalp. It went away compleatly when I switched to no-poo. I do get a flare up from time to time, usually related to stress but no whre near as bad as it used to be. I have added a finishing rince to my scalp of rosemary tea to the basic no poo routine. I use dried rosemary from the spice section of the grocery store and steep about 2 tbsp in a tea ball in about 2 cups boiling water. I let it steep until cooled to luke warm, poor it over my hair and work it into my scalp with my fingertips. Leave it on for a min and then rince out.

Since switching to African black soap, all of my daughter's eczema has gone completely away. Do you think that might help your scalp?

This is an interesting thread for me, as my husband has pretty bad psoriasis over his scalp and so does our daughter. He uses extra moisturizing shampoo/conditioner but I can't help wondering if no shampoo at all would be better. His hair is so thick and frizzy too.

I think I have psoriasis or seborrhea of my scalp and face. I haven't done enough research yet and can't afford to go to the dr. plus its embarrassing... so I'm not sure. But if you find something that works, please keep this thread updated. I don't really want to use those tar-based shampoos that smell like.. well, TAR - YUCK. So, I'm looking forward to read some feedback.
