nausea while breastfeeding?

hi all,

i have noticed that when i start to nurse i get nausea. this didn't happen with my first so i'm wondering if it is normal? i did have horrible morning sickness with her (i lost about 15 pounds) and i'm wondering if it's hormonal?

it sucks because it's usually right when i make a plate of food and sit down to eat and nurse. and then i don't eat because i feel like i'm going to puke.

nak

I had/have the same thing. It's a small uncommon side effect of bf. It's worse if you don;t eat regularly & don't stay hydrated.

I had teh sam ething. I still get it. Even when I am well hydrated and well fed. I vomitted my whole labor. I think Oxytocin and i hav esome issues. It has gotten better as ds nurses less.

I have a lot of nausea when breastfeeding this time around. I have been able to control it a bit by drinking bubbly things (mostly sodas) while breastfeeding. I can't handle eating while feeding the baby. Sodas give me calories in a light, liquid form which settles my stomach.

I had that feeling. It passed around the fifth month.

Could it be D-MER?

d-mer isn't really about nausea, they talk about it on the faq page. But nausea is a known symptom with letdown. See this page on kellymom
