I went to my midwife appointment yesterday and babies heartbeat was 136. Her heartbeat has always been in the higher 140's to 150's. Is it normal for the heartbeat to slow down towards the end of pregnancy? When I was pregnant with Layla her heartbeat never varied from the 160's. Just curious.

I think it may, Sophie's HB was was 120 today and she is normally in the upper 130s. Not a HUGE difference, but she has been slowing more and more lately.

I think they do tend to slow down at the end. Mine had been in the 150s or 160s and was in the 140s the last few weeks.

I just came back from my appointment and baby was at 130, and then the apprentice wiggled baby a little to get a better listen and the heartbeat jumped to 150. Slower just means less active for the moment, but when they are moving around the heartbeat will go up.
