all i can do is SLEEP

so, i'm sure i should be walking a lot throughout the day and standing and trying to kick things into gear......but i'm TIRED!!! All I've been able to do over the last week is sleep as much as possible. I'm 40 weeks on sunday, so I'm not at my full term date yet, but I also know that she can come whenever now and I'm torn between resting and feeling good and trying to get things going.

anyone else having sleep guilt??? I am afraid she'll get comfy in here and decide to never come out and just continue to nap with me for weeks on end. lol

I guess i have a little bit of an excuse...my bp is stupid high and I have had food poisoning from mothers day. But I can't help but think that all this laying down is making him not want to engage more, and just sleep til 2009. So, yeah Im with ya!!! I feel like I should at least be rolling around on my yoga ball.

Yeah i am sleeping and lounging around heaps. I hadnt even thought about him not engaging more, hmmm something wlse to stress over i just really dont have the energy, and whenever i get up to do something it starts off braxton hicks and cervix pains. But maybe that is a good thing. I am ok once i get going, it is just the getting going thats the issue.

I have been so sleepy too -- like first trimester sleepy. Yesterday I could not stay awake during the afternoon (my littlest was taking a nap). I ended up sleeping, HARD, for almost two hours. My oldest, poor boy, came in a couple times asking me to wake up and I coudln't.

I don't feel guilty. This is the time to sleep if we can.

Listen to your body! If you are sleepy, then rest up. Your body knows best what it is doing. My theory is it's saving energy and getting ready for birth. If you're anything like me/a lot of other women, you'll get a real sudden burst of energy before it's go-time.

Rest rest rest.

Ever since I quite my job last week, I've been resting and sleeping! Didn't know I needed it so much! And that's what it feels like to me -- like I need it. As of appointment Mon, she's down low and her head is engaged, so I don't think the resting changes that. I also have the unfortunate problem of serious butt muscle spasms (kinda like sciatica but doesn't shoot down my leg) if I stand / walk too long. Went food shopping yesterday, and by the end could barely stand. So, I guess I'm getting comfortable doing what my body needs to do. I was super super active (walking exercising etc) until a month ago when this muscle spasm thing kicked in. It's a matter of time now, and I'm trying to take it as it comes -- rest up!

I've been sleeping A LOT during the day, and not feeling guilty at all

But I do tend to stay awake very late, and wake a lot during the night. So yea, I think someplace it balances out.

rest. truly. if your body is telling you rest. do it! you do NOT want to stall in labor due to fatigue.

I'm here, I'm here and SUPER sleepy and exhausted!! I can't tell if it's b/c of pregnancy or b/c my 19 month old has decided to wake up ALOT at night and cry, cry, cry! Poor thing! He doesn't even seem to want boobie....I don't know what his problem is but I am TIRED!! I think he knows the changes that are happening but I just don't know how I'm going to handle him plus a newborn at night. DH says he will sleep in the family room with the 19 month old but I want us all together!! We'll see....

I'm so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open...I hadn't really thought of it, but YEAH, this IS "first trimester" tired! It's the same exact feeling.

When my body sends me signals as strong as these...I've learned to listen. So I've been sleeping and sleeping as much as I can. I honestly, all day long, can just barely keep my eyes from shutting...it's bizarre. Hopefully it means my body is getting ready and making me rest easy before this baby comes....but yes, I too wish I were doing a whole lot more walking and bouncing, etc. Oh welll....she can't stay in there forever!! OR CAN SHE??!!!

I'm here too... suddenly sooo tired and also hungry. I feel like such a lazy slob, and I do worry that all this non-activity is getting baby into a weird position (though I have been fitting in some yoga ball time, a few cat-cows here and there). It wouldn't be so bad if I could just rest without the guilt that comes with being unproductive.

Darn that guilt! I have felt that same way. I will nap 2 or 3 times a day and then feel soo lazy that I end up overcompensating in some other area of activity...Trying to strike a balance.

Truly, unless you are laying flat on your back or lounging with your back toward the ground, I don't think you are encouraging baby into a "bad" position. Lay on your side, or even better, with your top leg over the bottom one (called sims position). Having a relaxed body will help baby engage and be ready for birth. Our normal walking around the house, to the bathroom, etc., will get baby ready enough.

No more guilt!
