I love Freecycle!

I just got a knitting machine from Freecycle! I'm quite happy, and very excited (though somewhat frustrated, because right now I'm 23 rows into a 696 row-long garter stitch wrap) I'm picking it up tonight.
Does anyone else own one? If so, what do you suggest I do with it, what's it likely to work best for? How's it going to handle handspun, for instance?

Sorry to not offer any help, Helen...but, good score!

Wow- what a great score! No help here either unfortunately- I've never even seen one!

Wow, that's fantastic. When I first wanted to learn to knit I posted a Wanted: Knitting Supplies. I had so many replies and even women wanting to teach me. Freecycle is awesome!

Sorry I don't have any experience with knitting machines, just wanted to say, 'way to go!'

Thanks! Unfortunately, my lovely DH was late home from work, so I need to wait until the weekend to pick it up Bah. Humbug.

Woah! How exciting! I bet your boys will love it too.

I've only ever seen a knitting machine being used in Zambia, where the woman was making a whole series of school uniform jerseys. But that would be a bit boring, really.
