What is your "nursing word"?

My DS (21 months old) is the first one I've nursed long enough to have one. He recently started saying "nurp" when he wants to nurse. It's so sweet.

Do you and your toddler have a special word for nursing?

I say, "milkies." So far, DS doesn't say anything. He comes over and thumps my chest, or he bounces up and down and makes eager little grunts. DD2 TRIES to say "milkies," but it comes out kind of like "mees ees eee" which is so cute. Or she just points to my boob and says, "this?" with this hopeful little look.

DD1 used to say, "mop."

I say milkes, he signs milk like crazy or if I'm already holding him he'll throw himself into the cradle position.

I call it "mama milk"; he calls it "NOM" which is the same thing he calls all food, but it's a special inflection. He also signs "milk" and/or "please" or taps the back of one hand (a holdover from the time I tried to introduce nursing manners by telling him, "Ask me nicely, with your hands" and tapping his hand. )

I call it "nursing," but DS has somehow picked up "beast." I assume he's saying "breast"...

mee-mee. that's what it was with ds#1, that's what is it now!

With my little it was always 'mama milk' but came out more like 'mama miwk' I loved that ...

milkies here too!!

I always called it Boobie, but when ds started talking he called it it tee-tee, with a really cute inflection, going up at the end, like a question. So now I call it tee-tee too.

we have some family members who called it num nums

"Boob." Well it often comes out in a multiple syllabic whine ... kind of like a race car "boo-ooo-oob"

dd#1 started calling them nummies and it has stuck. Although ds named them 'this' (left side) and 'that' (right side) when he was 9 months old. I loved that.

I say milkie or snackie. DH always says "Want a jug of milk?" and then proceeds to make our girl the airplane and ask "Which hanger does the airplane need to land in this time?" and then my girl opens wide and comes in for a landing. Yes, we are strange people.

"snacks"

i've been calling it that since ds1 was an infant. sometimes "mama snacks" in order to prevent confusion.

i started because i thought it was funny to offer a baby snacks. now i'm glad to have an alternative word. we do the milk sign too, but call it the snack sign, of course.

we call it baba. that way my dh doesnt get embarrassed.
i ask if she wants baba and she gets all excited and says yeah alot. it is so cute. we are working on signs. we use a mix of milk and mommy to sign it. it looks like you are milking your chin. lol

I TRIED to introduce the sign for milk.

DD decided her word is "boo." Ever so subtly accompanied by more-or-less frantic pulling on my shirt LOL. this has been her word for oh probably since around her first b-day.

boo? like its' a question. it's too cute. (that's what I get for calling her 'boobmonster' all the time LOL)
