When is your due date? Mine is Friday the 30th, but they don't do c-sections on Thurs or Fri and he won't let me go past that.

I'm due on the 28th. So it's the 28th.

What are you doing (or planning to do if nothing happens in the next week or so) to get things moving?

I don't know, I had good intentions to drink a lot of RRL tea but I don't like it so it's been sporadic. Been thinking about vaginal EPO but the thought of it leaking all over my bed has me hesitating. The thought of sex isn't so appealing either but I think we'll try that. I'm giving it unilt Monday or so to start whatever it is I'm going to do

I'm not above bribery.... if only that would work!

How about you?

I'm still here too. My "official" due date was monday, so I'm 40 + 2 according to the chart. (My unofficial due date was last Wednesday, so I'm 41 weeks by that.)

I just had a midwife appointment last night where she said that they would talk c/section if I'm still around next week. They originally told me they would recommend c/s at 42 weeks, which would be 5/24.

My cervix is ripe and "effacing" but still closed as of last night. A very disappointing appointment all around. I go back tomorrow for a NST and to discuss herbal induction techniques. On the positive side, she said that because my cervix is ripe, things could move along pretty quickly once contractions start.

I spoke to my doula today, and we have set up a massage/accupressure session on Saturday. She suggested that if I'm feeling stressed, the cortisol in my system could inhibit labor, so try to relax and think oxytociny thoughts. Okee dokee.

ETA: I've been doing EPO orally and vaginally for about a month now, which may have helped to soften my cervix. I also do RRL tea three times a day. I've tried nipple stimulation, but it doesn't seem very comfortable for me-- maybe I'm doing it wrong or giving up too soon, because I never get any contractions from it. DH has a half day on Friday, so I think we'll take a ride to Ikea to walk around and get my mind off things.

My CNMW told me to go ahead and use EPO - 2 caps orally and 1 vaginally at night (not looking forward to the mess so I bought some of those chem free disposable pads - let you know how that goes). She also said to have sex often. (so I'm taking a long nap tonight in hopes that I can actually stay awake to DTD).

If things aren't progressing by my appt next week, I'll set up an appt with an acupunturist. And we'll begin discussing herbal inductions.

They haven't 'set' a date for a c/s but it's 40 wks pretty firm.

I'm only a fingertip dialated right now...even with the hours and hours of contrax.

Of course maybe all I need to do is think more 'oxytociny thoughts' that one seems to be the least hassle.

I am not in the VBAC category, but I did want to offer a suggestion on how to make the RRL tea very palatable. I make a pitcher of iced tea with it every day. 4 bags of RRL and 2 bags of Raspberry Zinger. Add honey or agave nectar and lime or orange slices. Very nice. I drink the pitcher, alternating the tea with water over the course of the day.

VBAC here too :

My EDD is tomorrow. I have until 42 weeks.

Next week I have a NST set up before my OB appt. Then later that afternoon off to the acupunturist

I tried everything with my DS apart from acu & castor oil to get things going and nothing. I am focusing on relaxing, not thinking about it and RRL (which I also make iced) I may take some EPO but I swore i wasn't going to get obsessed about this. Perhaps I'll just look and see if there's any left over

I am hoping something start in the next few days. Lost my plug this am so maybe...

I will start to worry on Monday is the plan I think

me! my due date is the 25th, and i have a section scheduled for that day. hoping it doesn't come to that, but preparing, which actually feels kind of good.

i'm not doing anything to hasten labor. i tried so many things with DD and nothing worked. so i'm just at peace that baby will come if it comes, and won't if it won't. though i might go for accupuncture next week, i didn't try that with DD...

Why all the RCS's scheduled for the "due date"??

Anyway I'm still here, almost 38 weeks and no signs of anything happening. Cervix is ripe but not effacing yet and maybe a fingertip dilated? Just going on self-checking.
Taking flaxseed oil instead of EPO, really not that messy - I just use a wad of toilet paper since it seems like a waste of a pad, and that's with two capsules.

Anyhoo, ELV's to all of us Here's hoping we can sway the successful VBAC numbers a bit.

i'm hba2c'ing. ..

my midwife already knows i'll probably go to 42-44weeks. ..

one of the MANY reasons I decided to go home birth this time. .. that and there's no doc around here that will 'allow' vba2c. . .even though landon is here, he's pretty intervention happy if the last couple of vbamc's i've heard about are any indication. . .

i'm 'officially' due may 18. . .but i'm expecting to have the baby in June.. . although i sure wouldn't mind going 'early'. .*grin*

My OB has two reasons, though I don't necessarily agree with them. The biggest is the fact that I have 'bigger' babies my first was 9 pds 2 oz at 41 weeks and my second was 8 pds at 37 weeks born via c-section. With my first I had a 4th degree tear and ripped out my sphincter muscle. It took almost a year for things to be right back there and 5 years later it's still not like it was before. He's not afraid that I couldn't birth a large baby (he said a 12 pounder would be ok for me) and he admits the chances of me tearing again are slim but if I do that it could be bad.

The other is the brain tumor issue. The Neuro has said several times that it's safe for the baby, but I still think my OB is nervous. That combined with what I mentioned above is why he won't let me go past my date. I really think if the baby didn't have the tumor, he'd let me go longer.

: I'm really surprised I got the go ahead for a VBAC, and I'd love to have one. I'm just happy for the chance. I f it doesn't work out, I'm ok with another section. I'm to the point where I just want this little guy to get here as healthy as he can, so whichever way that is I'm ok with it.

I'm here! Due today, and the MW are okay with seeing me up to 42+6 (if I remember right). Now as for me, I am okay with her coming in the next week!
we are just taking it one day at a time here. (i'm 40 wks 3 days.) not a word from the midwives or OB about scheduling a c-section.
tomorrow is a ultrasound and NST for a base line.

Same here!!

I'm 40 and 4. No talk of scheduling yet. I am dreading tomorrow tho. I don't want to hear her say it out loud

I have acu scheduled for tomorrow too.
