Hey guys, at risk of causing trouble, I would say, definately complain about the sign. To the nurse/receptionist, AND the doctor. If they push formula on you, get a new ped. BUT, please consider that a lot of people are stupid/ uneducated, and while they totally have access to the knowledge they need, a lot of people don't know what they don't know, if that makes sense. So here's the thing. Maybe, rather than leaving right away, if you like the doc, bring the subject up, and make a change. It's easy to get mad, it's better to change things.
Also, I don't think what I am about to say applies in this case, but hear me out. Sometimes, there are valid reasons to use formula. In rare cases. I believe that it should be available by prescription only. Not that most doctors would hesitate to prescribe it willy nilly, but still, it would hopefully make some people think. But, you were in a specialists office, where there MAY be some kids who, for those rare reasons, cannot be breast fed. Those kids are the only ones that the free can should be offered to, the sign still must go, but please remember that there are some mom's who would love to nurse, and for a lot of reasons that really can add up in this day and age, cannot. Anyway, I hope I didn't make you mad.
