anyone else heard of this before or tried it? what were the results?

I've been told it is a sure fire way to induce labor...

It's also a sure fire way to dry up milk so if you like your colostrum DONT!!!! My former MW suggested it to me to help with a UTI and never mentioned she was trying to induce me OR that it could cause serious problems nursing.

My daughter tried it and nothing happened...and it was pretty gross because it gets a bit gooey like jello...yuk!

Huh, I did use parsley tea to induce labor with my first...it was a gradual and gentle-seeming start to labor. And of course, it could have been that my labor was starting on its own then, also.
I've never heard about it lessening milk production though! And I'm pretty sure the midwife who suggested it to me had no concept of it being any threat to breastfeeding success. I didn't have much colostrum, but I don't know what's normal.

How long would parsley tea affect milk production...if you drank it the day you went into labor?

I just had about 32oz. of it the other night as I'm hoping to bring on labor with my third...

Anybody?

Also, fwiw, I didn't have any experience with it becoming gelatinous. The tea I was instructed to make and drink was made from fresh raw organic parsley and water. It was, indeed, kinda yucky though! Like drinking vegetable stock.

Thanks,
Dana

Dana I don't know how long, just that many MWs suggest it but don't know about the connection to milk production. It's a good way to dry up milk for women who do not choose to lactate.
