NIP brag

I just wanted to share that I nursed my babe on a busy subway today

I have always been curvy and self conscious of my body but have always believed in NIP. I feel it is my duty to show people that it is ok to nurse whenever, wherever you need to. When I am nursing my baby I don't feel self conscious i feel happy that I am able to feed my baby the best food around.

Good for you, mama! I'm like you in that I've always felt self-conscious, but not while NIP!

Good for you! It's really hard for me too as I have body image issues from way before I even got pregnant. Lifting up my shirt exposes that I am indeed now a big blob of stretchmarks and loose skin but I feel like it's my duty to moms and just people in general to normalize nursing in public as much as possible.

I understand why people do it in private or cover up but I really think that hurts the cause and presents nursing as something shameful and dirty that needs to be hidden away.

Woo hoo! Well done mama!

I remember how great I felt the first time I nursed on a busy train. The businessman across from me was glad to have a newspaper to hide behind, I think.

I got many, many more positive comments than I ever did negative though. I once had a Japanese man in the row behind me on an airplane congratulate me for nursing my 1yo DD and tell me that I should keep it up until she was at least three.

I saw that, what a coincidence Although I did look up to see a young guy kind of with a look like this and then he quickly looked away when he saw me looking at him. I just smiled.
