Such bad timing.....

My landlords put our bldg on the market a few months ago. We were told we'd sign new leases to make sure the new owner couldn't up the rent or force us out.

Well they have a buyer and guess what? The guy doesn't WANT them to renew the leases because he wants to make the bldg into condos.

Guess who's lease is up?

So, me and DH are scrambling around, looking for a place to live. Thus far our search has been discouraging to say the least. It's so hard to wait for people to call back and with just one car and our wacky night schedules we can't go looking while the other is at work. So I'm just scouring the internet and coming up short.

I had just gotten our apt in order for the babe!

I'm trying to stay positive, especially since stress is a labor blocker and I'm on a deadline for VBAC..... but this truly sucks a big one.

Oh man, I am so sorry you are going through this!! When is your deadline to be out? Could you talk the new LL into giving you a 2-3 month lease??

Our lease is already up so technically we need to be out ... now.

The new LL is in California and we don't yet have their info. If it comes down to it, we'll see if we can negotiate with him.

It's not like we don't need more space...we do. There are a lot of positives to us moving, I just wish they could've sold the place when I wasn't quite so huge and hormonal.

Yeah, it sounds like moving is a positive thing, but moving at 9 months pregnant, not so great.

Here's to hoping you find something GREAT and quick!

Yeah that stinks. I hope the new landlord can work something out with you guys. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this now.

I know how you feel. We had to move 3wks before one little one arrived. Just take lots of deep breaths, and know that it's ok to cry. I believe everything happens for a reason, and you will end up where you need to be.

We just had almost the same situation. It was so frustrating, and we haven't finished moving so the stress isn't over, but we actually found a larger place with lower rent in our same neighborhood and were able to start moving this week, so I feel like it was for the best. I hope your search goes as well and ends as quickly as ours did.

I'm so sorry mama! I hope you find a new place that is much better, and get moved in smoothly .

You should call the new owners ASAP.

My DH is an architect and he does condo docs sometimes. If they haven't started that process already it takes a while. Every apt will have to be measured and plotted, parking spaces applied, lawyers involved. I'm sure they'll want to renovate before they even do that and that takes tons of time especially in this market.

Call when you can and try not to stress out. Baby needs you sane!

I'm sure you'll find a new place soon. We're all thinking about it right now!!

I hope they can give you some more time, that is just lousy. I hope something works out for you and it's not too stressful.

I know everything's going to work out. I'm really trying to be positive about it but it's going to take a few more days of getting used to.

We've got a lot of friends who are looking in their neighborhoods for us and offering to help us with the move.

Thanks for the insight on condo builds Nate's Mama, it puts me at rest to know that it could be awhile before we HAVE to get out. We haven't recieved any sort of timeframe in which to be out yet, so I'm really trying to relax while looking.

Thanks for the support ladies.

It will work out. (repeat over and over and over)
