2nd babies and dropping (or, please tell me labor is just around the corner)

this baby has really, really dropped over the last 24 hours. my DD never ever got this low. so, i keep reading that 2nd babies dont drop until just before or during labor. but it seems like moms in the real world talk about their 2nd + babies dropping well before labor all the time. so, i don't want to get my hopes up too high, but does anything think this is a sign i might go into labor soon? i'm trying for a VBAC and on a deadline, so i really want to go into labor!

With my second I woke up in the night to some contractions, but fell back asleep. When I woke in the morning I noticed something was different. When I was walking around at work, I could feel that baby had really dropped, and I had a hard time walking. My water broke soon after, and contractions started about four hours after that. When I got to the hospital, he was at a -2 station (6 cm dilated), though, but I think I just carry my babies a little higher than most.

i seem to carry mine really high too, so it's really weird for me to see my belly look like it does right now. and, when i have a BH contraction, the pressure in my butt and crotch is really intense. gah. if i don't have a baby by the weekend, i'm sure as heck going to have an awful case of hemorrhoids.

I don't know...but I did notice yesterday that my LO dropped significantly as well, so far nothing else is going on though.

aww, thanks for thinking about me! i'm much better emotionally (no more news for me though). i'm also working on my c-section birth plan, which really only has one big sticking point--i want to have my baby with me during recovery, and this is not how the hospital usually does things. i'm working on it though. i've been told (by my OB and a few others) that babies are sometimes allowed with mom in recovery, but i'm having a hard time getting a guarantee (they're telling me that if there's someone really sick in recovery or it's a really busy night, all bets are usually off). so, i understand if there's a really sick woman, getting my baby is not going to be priority #1. but still, i want as much of an advance guarantee as i can get. so i'm calling patient services tomorrow and hopefully they'll give me a better idea of how to make sure it happens.

actually, this baby with me in recovery if i have a c/s was one of my biggest hangups, it feels really good to have it almost worked out. or at least, be as prepared as i can be.

how's your little man doing? do you have any more sonograms before your due date?

My daughter dropped ridiculously low about 2 days before she was born. She was so low that even though I only pushed for 11 minutes, she had a molded head from being in position for those two days!

This is just the way I feel right now too!!

Doing good, thanks. No, my last one was the end of April. I have one more OB appt/NST on Tuesday and then that will be it until he's here.
