Pics of our Learning Room

I've just posted pics of our new Learning Space on my blog! I'm so excited to have this....I used to have all my supplies stuffed in my pantry and our books spread out everywhere. But, now we have a room to enjoy. The kids love it. I heard my son telling his sister yesterday "school used to be boring and then I started homeschooling and that was a little boring. But now it is exciting!".

I'm going to try and see if I can figure out how to post pictures in my posts, but in the meantime, you can see them on my blog...

i LOOOOVE it! so great! i can't wait to finally get a space of our own one day. my dh uses the 4th bedroom currently as his office....but he should get his own office in the next year or so (our church is being built, so it is still a ways off) but i plan to take over and make a wonderful space for the kids! i really love what you've done. kudos!

What great, useable space. So pretty and cheery as well. It's nice when a child can find things, too! A place for everything makes it easy to follow your creative impulses.

Wow, that looks so great. We have a room that we could use, but I've hesitated because my kids love to look at books and now they are in the main family room area, where we spend most of our time. But your room inspires me to get a little more organized.

On a different note, I saw that you are doing NOEO science. What do you think of it?

Thanks, everyone! I am really excited to have the room set up and cleaned (at least for now LOL).

homeschoolmama, I'd love for you to leave a comment. I don't know about the typepad registration, though. You could probably register for free, I'm not sure. I'm in AZ...come on down for class! You'll just have to bring me some Coffee Crisp since I saw you're in Canada

Elizawill, how cool that you can look forward to getting that room! Start planning now!

Macky'smom, we still have a book basket in the family room for the kids to read when sitting in here. That was the one thing that I insisted will stay in the family room. I'm a huge reader and want to encourage my kids to read. My husband is the type that wants the kids' stuff in the kids's rooms, out of sight, so it's been a balancing act for the last few years. Now that the kids are older, I think we've found a perfect balance with the learning room since it's located off the kitchen/family room side of the house. Or they can bring a book from either their bedrooms or the learning room in here.

I do like Noeo science. We have the Biology 1 set and am enjoying it. I've supplemented alot with extra books and stuff and I'm not really going in the order given in the guide but I'd still recommend it. If for nothing else, then for the books!
