Full Moon on Monday!!!

Here's to this board jumping off full speed, especially all you gals that are already overdue!!

I would not mind going into labor monday or tuesday night would be even better...my last final is tuesday for school. although my teacher really wouldn't care if I didn't show....it's a yoga class, he's way laid back.

I'm about out of mental blocks/things I have to accomplish before baby can be born, so Im curious as to if he makes his appearance early. He sure has been very quiet the last few days and I have been getting my BP/swelling under control. I wonder if it's the "calm before the storm" sure hope so!

So who's gonna have a full moon baby?

I thought i might go at the full moon, my edd is sunday so it could happen. But my mum had a dream that the baby is coming on the 23rd and it is a girl, and she is usually pretty spot on with her dreams. She knew i was pregnant before i told her because of a dream, so who knows. My midwife even checked her calender on that day to see what she was up to, so even she thinks it is possible.

sunday is also my "EDD", but I've been banking on the full moon for awhile now. I'm very much a moon cycle woman with my monthly all my life, so I can't imagine things would be much different for this, but you never know....it's not really up to us, is it?!

here's hoping that Monday night/Tuesday is the time for my girl!

What is the theory with women delivering around the full moon? Does it have something to do with the water breaking or does it actually send women into labor before that? I'm really curious and wouldn't mind a little help from the moon to get things going around here.

Monday/Tuesday would be perfect for me. My mom's coming on Monday to help me get the house back to perfect again and I will be 39 weeks.

It will also be a little bit cooler by then too.

From what I understand the theory is that the moon's gravitational pull effects the amniotic fluid in much the same way as it effects the water in the oceans and rivers.

As a woman's body prepares for natural childbirth, the amniotic sack becomes distended so the point where it will easily burst if put under pressure. Under normal circumstances, the pressure of labor contractions bursts the sac. During a full moon, the pressure caused by the moon's effect on the water inside the sack can cause the same things to happen, but without the accompanying contractions.

I'm really hoping I go before that(I was due 4 days ago...) but I went into labor with my first on a full moon and he was born the next day, so I could be affected by this one as well...who knows. I would be about 7 days past EDD so it wouldn't be that bad if it happened that way.

i sure hope i get a full moon baby!! i am seriously ready for this baby to arrive!! dh is going out of town this weekend so he is hoping for the baby to arrive monday/tuesday as well

I have been thinking about this upcoming full moon for a couple of months now--although, I kinda hope to go about a week past that...either way though, as long as baby comes out healthy, then I will be one happy mama!

Holy cannoli! I told my DH that he AND his boss would have trouble walking if they scheduled him for any trips from 36 weeks on. You're a saint!

Ooo me please *raises hand*. I'm "due" on Wednesday. I would love to have this baby on Monday or Tuesday. However, I do have a track record of going 3 or 4 days past my EDD. so we'll see. I'm hoping this baby breaks that trend.

My DH was supposed to travel this week but he got out of it, the thought of it was enough to make me nuts! Is he traveling for work?

Full moon would be nice, but both my babies were new moon babies (one was induced, so I am not sure it counts) so I am thinking June 4th.

lol everyone is in town here, except my midwives! They are two hours away at a conference. They asked me first and since technically Im not really due this week at all I consented. The apprentice is "on call" for questions...and I think it would be kinda cool to have a UC. Although two hours away isn't so bad-it is my fourth and IF I did go into labor, there is a good chance by the time I admitted it, they'd miss the birth....

not holding my breath. I don't think Im really pregnant anyway, just fat. If I am pregnant it'll be til 2009 Im sure.

I want a moon baby! I'm not due till the 28th but since that's also my end date for VBAC I'm all about getting Little Man out before that.
