No longer nursing...can I still join LLL?

I am sad to say I am no longer nursing My 11 month old went on a nursing strike over two weeks ago and after trying everything under the sun to get her to nurse and no success and after pumping 24/7 emotionally and physically I can't keep it up. Anyway, I would still REALLY like to join LLL, but don't you have to be a nursing mom? I feel left out now that I am not "in the breast feeding club" anymore and I would like still be involved in nursing and breast feeding awareness. Is it ok to still ask to be a member?

OF COURSE you can still join!!! It is a group for women who will nurse, have nursed, are nursing, want to find out about nursing, etc.; People who have BTDT are always welcome - think of all the advice and support you can give new mom's!

Sorry for the extended strike. I know some other people who have undergone that. You can still offer the breast occasionally. Your DD might surprise you. I totally understand the stress of not wanted to pump anymore though!

They make a point at every one of our meetings to say "Whether you nursed for 1 day, 1 week, 1 year or longer, you are welcome here and can give insight and support to others."

I started going when I was pregnant w/ my first and continued after she weaned and on to the next kids.

I did the same thing to my mom. Unfortunetley back then, all she had was a bicycle pump. She did not end up pumping so our bfing ended. Please join LLL your experience can help many Moms.

I joined! (And I am STILL pumping...I just can't convince myself to quit. I feel all that good milk in there and I feel compelled to pump. Gee, I think I will fit in..haha!)
