Yeah, I'm shocked that they'd mention anything negative about nip after the nurse-in (which I proudly attended) ) . But, oh well, I guess they didn't.

I also heard there was a comment about the age of a child bfing-- something about being 3 1/2 ... does anyone know?

Barbara Walters had said on the View about a year ago or so that she was mortified when a woman sat next to her on a plane and began BF'ing. Then she backpedaled her way into oblivion when later questioned.

Yes, there was a nurse-in outside their headquarters in NYC in 2006. Janice in Canada here and myself (I was anniej then) and one other woman from Canada (Erika was her name) organized it and we had GREAT turn-out.

But, they were ragging in BFing not very long after that...I can't stand those women anymore and don't put much past them.

Yes, this was in June 2005.

And it didn't really stop or change them - they shut up about bfing for a little while, then did start to mention it again, with pretty much the same attitude.

The Nurse-In was triggered by a few specific comments that spring, but those were really just the last straw after years of stupid and negative comments (often by Star Jones) and we had written to them about it many many times, but those letters seemed to have no effect whatsoever.

I tune in to The View once in a while to see what they're all up to, and it's almost always very disappointing. It makes me nuts to see women on tv talking about whether or not to bf like they're choosing sandwiches from a menu. It is absolutely insane how removed we all are from what is natural and right.
