My birth at Special Beginnings was the most positive experience of my life. I had some complications- water breaking 3 days before ctx with light meconium, but it was treated with...

My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...

This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I have toyed with the idea of becoming a member, but that fee is really not giving me the warm fuzzies.
And, I have to say, having been involved on the periphery of Slow Food here (employed by, at events with, etc.) it is a pretty elitist organization. Basically the majority of the people in it are over 50, rather to very affluent and white. And when you get more into it, it's very, very Italo-centric (is that even a word?). That's not to say it hasn't done some good in the world, but it does confirm in a lot of people's minds that good, ethical, traditional food is a luxury rather than a necessity.
I don't see any harm in joining, but I also don't think you get a great deal out of it. Their quarterly journals are actually not all that exciting.
