Toothpaste?

What toothpaste do you use? Do you make your own?

I'm trying to find a toothpaste to use on my LO as he just sprouted his first tooth.

If you make your own, may I see your recipe? I was looking at Tom's but saw SLS and silica (wtf) as an ingredient, things I would like to avoid.

We use Dr. Christopher's tooth powder.

Weleda has an SLS-free children's toothpaste. I use Kiss My Face (also no SLS) and my girls prefer the minty taste to the Weleda. Both are fluoride free, too.

Our dentist recommended Hakeem Herbal Toothpaste. Said it was a good combination of the right kinds of bacteria; flouride free. He's very committed to natural and whole health. So that's what we've been using. My kids think it is great.

I use a toothpaste I got with my neti pot order from India. I believe it is called Herbodent?, but that doesn't look quite right. (I'm not near that bathroom to check.) In any case, I really like it! No SLS or fluoride or silica or any of all that "junk".

DH & DD have been using the fluoride-free Tom's. I'd have to double-check, but I believe I purchased the ones without all that other stuff, too. Anyway, DH is using one of the mint flavors and DD is LOVING her new mango flavor.
