A man rode to an inn on Thursday and spent the night at the inn. And yet, he returned to his home on the same Thursday. How is that possible?

We've been working on this for 30 minutes with no correct answers. Anyone got any ideas???

He's the innkeeper (or otherwise lives at the inn?) Or he crossed the dateline?
The inn is on the international date line?

Is Thursday the name of his horse?

No. Already tried those. Not time/space continuum related. No worm holes.

Oh, that's a good one, Pacificbliss. All of these answers *could* be correct.

Doh!
Thursday is the horse's name.

I have seen this one as a cowboy rode to an inn on Friday, spent two nights and left on the same Friday. How is that possible? The answer is that the horse's name is Friday.

Crossing the International Dateline does not violate the laws of physics. People do it every day.

Another one.

Dang kids!!
Paul was a lion. Why did he take a hammer to bed?

Yep, it's the name of the horse.

My idea was that he returned home (from somewhere) on Thursday morning and then went to the inn and spent the night there. Given the wording, it seemed like a reasonable interpretation to me. Never would have thought of the horse.
