my 2 cents' worth: meditation/ yoga resources

I'm just getting back into a regular practice of yoga and meditation and want to share some good books--"Meditation, the Complete Guide" by Patricia Monaghan and Eleanor Viereck covers all sorts of techniques with good, practical start-up tips for each. "Some Still Want the Moon" by Vimala McClure is a great yoga book specifically for women. No complicated postures or anything intimidating! And an interesting website, www.sivananda.org.

Anyone else's 2 cents'?

Hey, TapWitch, great website. A couple of my favorite yoga sites are the Siddha Yoga Mainpage and Erich Schiffman-Moving Into Stillness. I'm not sure of their exact addresses, you can find them by doing a search. One of my favorite books is I Am That, by Swami Muktananda. How long have you been doing yoga and/or meditation? I started about a year ago and now practice daily. It has enriched my life beyond belief. My dd (4 yrs old) even likes to do yoga with me sometimes. It's a great outlet for kids too. Well, nice to meet you and enjoy your practice. Namaste.....Danielle

Hi Danielle! I first started practicing yoga when pregnant with my first dd, 17 years ago, and it was wonderful during pregnancy. Gradually I let myself grow away from it though and have been very off-and-on until, again, pregnancy! Dd #2 is now 16 mos. so lately I've been able to keep myself more on a regular yoga schedule; I usually start my stretches and settling for meditation as she's settling down to sleep, or actually meditate while she drifts off in my arms (now that she's recently weaned herself). I'll admit I have a long way to go in focusing and tuning out the "spam" in my mind! But, it's the journey...
