opening a scrapbook to remove or add things - help

Thread Starter
I write a storybook for my babes about their gestation and birth. I wrote one for my older DD using a scrapbook, but I didn't have to open it to remove the decorations or the printed pages. The one I bought for my new DD, you have to open to remove the decorations, pages and such... also you are supposed to be able to add pages. I can't figure out at all how to get the thing open. Anyone know how to?

Open it up to the back last page/back cover. There may be a flap over the binding that you lift. You may see three sets of screws, unscrew these and the back cover will come off. Also, you can get extention kits that allow you to expand the book and add more pages. These are threaded tubes that screw into where the screw removes from (They have a male end that goes into the female end in the book, and they have a female end on the outside that receives the screw). It extends the post allowing for more pages to be placed.

If you have any trouble, take the book to your local craft store or scrapbooking store (if you have one) and they can show you!

If you have a post-bound album, the above directions are perfect!

You may have a strap-hinge style, though. Flipping to the far back and/or very front and lifting any flaps is key. If you can describe what you find (or take a pic), then I bet we can help more.

Post bound! Thank you! I couldnt think of what it was called!

I've only got this type. I've never worked with a strap hinge style.

You're welcome!

Those strap-hinge ones actually scare me! LOL I have three friends who use them almost exclusively, so I took my one to them and asked for help.
