Still Preggo Check in 5/18 - 5/25 - Page 5

I'm so sorry to say that I'm still with you guys. Had some laborish stuff last night that totally died and won't get restarted. So we're on to the castor oil, which is exactly what I had to do with dd (water broke, no labor, castor oil). That wound up in the hospital, but I don't think this will, I'm at least having some contractions here and there, just nothing to write home about yet.

I'm also sorry to see that the full moon was a bust for so many of us. Hugs all the way around.

i'm still here... boo... i am so ready for this baby! i plead with him and God every night! i thought last night could be it but obviously not. i am starting to think that i will be pregnant for ever... i haven't seen ant of my plug at a ll no bloody show... nothing. i have been crampy and felt all kinds of little twinges, but as i have never done this before, i don't really know what i'm looking for other than some REALLY obvious sign... Been mildly cramping since yesterday. Had my last OB appt today, I'm 75% effaced and 2 cm....doesn't really mean much unless labor starts up!

Just hanging in there and seeing what happens!

Had an appointment today, everythings still good (bp, urine, iron). I decided not to get checked, seeing no point to it. Took the kids to see friends after and we had a blast walking to their neighborhood pool & swimming, my contracts even picked up and are 5 mins apart/1 min long, keeping me hopeful ...

What does it really mean?

Hi Lovely ladies, I'm new here, I've been reading for a bit but haven't posted yet. Today I'm 38 and 4 days, I had my midwife appt today, I never am in a good mood after them, she's always making me feel like I have a huge baby and she pokes and prods me like there's no tomorrow, today was especially bad, she decided to do a pelvic because she wasn't totally sure the head was down, said my cervix is thick and closed. How much does that really mean? It seems like everyone on here has been effacing and dilating for weeks, does it mean that I'm bound to be pregnant forever? She couldn't even tell if the baby was really head down so she want me to do an ultrasound tomorrow. Ughh...
Hope you're all going into labor or will shortly, and when you do, send a bit of those good labor vibes my way if you have some extra.

i wouldn't worry about the not dilated. women in second pregnancys usually dilate quicker. with my first i was induced right at where you are for medical reasons and i was closed tight. i think its odd though that your midwife is sending you in for an ultrasound but thats because mine is so laid back.

Wow, we just lost 2 to broken membranes tonight! Crazy.

I went and had the spiciest (as in spices, not heat) Indian food tonight. Even if it doesn't help, it was soooooooo good!

Can't tell if I'm having contractions or indigestion, but I DID see mucous for the first time today! Just white, no blood or anything, but it keeps me hopeful!

Thanks Jacey, I should've went with my gut and declined the pe, oh well. I thought it was weird too that she is scheduling me in for a scan, she seems really laid back for the most part, I think maybe she's just getting tired of midwifery and doesn't want to deal with the situation if the baby is in a bad position. She has me starting some naturopathic blue cohosh stuff, I feel like I can only do so many things to ripen my cervix, already drinking some herbal blend tea, taking pn-6(dr christopher's prenatal) walking and DTD as much as I can be up for it. You'd think it would be as ready as can be, just goes to show you you might as well just leave it all alone and let your body do its thing, next time maybe I'll take that aproach.

Holy cow. What a night! Heather, it's going to be you and me going straight into June!

Saw my midwife today. I'm Group B Strep positive. And my kid is ~8 lbs. I'm 39 weeks and 2 days. So we are starting up acupuncture induction on Thursday. It usually doesn't actually make labor start sooner, but it statistically helps labor go faster. Given that I now have 18 hours from when my water breaks to have the baby or I have to go to a hospital that's important.

Guess my husband won't be going down to the wedding and bachelor party after all. *sigh*

Heck, I'm beginning to feel I may be joining you right into June!

I'm 41/1....my first was on time, my second early. I didn't expect to go late!

I'm still hanging on to the full moon effect.....maybe it is residual and takes a few days!

Well you are more than welcome to join us! The more, the merrier!

I'm hoping the full moon effect is residual... we could be the only DDC on record where nobody goes the night of, but a whole crapload go the night after. :

Nuts!

Saw the midwife today, I'm 1 1/2 cm dialated and 60% effaced and very soft. Hmmm only 1 1/2? boooooo I was hoping to have the jumping off point be like 3 or 4 cm. Anyhow, still cleaning like a mad lady and hoping that if I get every thing ready, the baby will sense it and just kinda come.

Yeah, I keep thinking I'll wake up in labor...but I wake, and it's light out, and I look at the clock and it's 7am....and I realize another night is gone....

Who knows....it will happen when it happens.....but the waiting is getting old!

My mom did that Puppy, my oldest sister was right on time, my net sister was like 3-4 weeks early and then I was late, I think she said 2 weeks late. What she did was stayed up all night scrubbing the oven and hand mopping the floor. I hate being on my hands and knees, but man if it means having a baby, I see the appeal.

Sara, I totally can see the mod saying "Ok ladies, need to shut down this DDC, can you ladies move it onto the June DDC? "

I am hoping with the epidemic of brittle membranes and post-full-moon-babies we will all wake up in a puddle tonight! I even teased DH that maybe he needs to use my crochet hook to pop me.... DH said he hates sewing, so why would he want to take up crocheting?

Pregnant into July, perhaps? Maybe our babies are just making sure that they're Geminis. Yeah, that's it. They REALLY want to be Geminis and come tomorrow, BAM! I can honestly say, though, waking up in a puddle has never sounded more exciting!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEK on the crochet hook, though! That totally skeeves me. I haven't even been able to stomach putting garlic up there recently, let alone a hook. Maybe I'll feel differently come June 14th, though.

- DH asked me this evening if I want him to strip my membranes....I don't think he even knows what that means. I'm thinking he just wants to get lucky!

I do this, too!

I saw my midwife today. Everything looks good. I have a fibroid that is getting bigger and bigger though. It's right on top, so she's hoping it won't interfere with my uterus clamping down after birth. It's around football size now. That's why I keep getting asked if I'm having twins. My due date is tomorrow, or should I say in two hours? I'm ready.
