A question about cycles

I had a baby 9 months ago and DH and are really want another one close to our baby's age to complete our family. Before I got pregnant with him my cycles were every 21 days and the bleeding was moderate. I got pregnant on my first month of loosely charting.
Well, ever since I have had him my cycles have been every 28-31 days and I bleed extremely heavy for the first couple of days and then spot the last few days. I am not Bfing at all and we have not used BC at all since I've had the baby.
So, for all those experts out there that have helped me so many times before, what is going on with my cycle and why haven't I gotten pregnant yet?

Start charting again? Are you checking other signs for fertility (mucus, cervical placement, etc.)?

It's normal for cycles to change after giving birth. If your cycle is considerably longer now then there's a good chance you're ovulating later.
