started using slings? help!

Thread Starter
I go back to work on tuesday and can bring the little man with me, at least that's the hope. I need a sling to carry him in, that I can also discreetly nurse in (I work w/ people w/ developmental disabilities so it's very important that I'm discreet), that won't kill my neck/shoulders. I have an Ergo carrier, walked to the market with him, got a migraine (I have a cracked vertebrae in my neck). I have a tube sling, I don't know if it's too small for me or if he's too big or what, but it just doesn't seem to work long enough for me to even figure out if it would hurt my neck. There are so many slings out there that i figure there must be one that will work for me but I don't want to waste any more time/money. Also, I am a larger sized woman w/ very large boobs, in case that makes a difference. My son is also quite big, almost 10 pounds already, so I want one that's safe for a nb but will also work for a larger/taller baby. Recommendations?
Thanks!

Slings

I have a friend who makes wonderful wrap carriers and sells them via gyspymama.com. When my son was small I loved nursing discreetly in my Maya. I have read that the unpadded ring slings are great for larger moms- there are articles about choosing a carrier to suit your body type on the babywearer.com. There you can also find a local babywearing group, or find a great baby store in your area that will let you try carriers before you buy I suggest going there and trying a few. Good luck,
Hadley
