I am making a Ballet Wrap for DD1, its the pattern from Lionbrand wedsite but in Trebles (UK Term) not Half Trebles.

i have done teh sides, back and sleeves and imgutted that it doesnt fit, shes so blooming small i was sure the smaller size (for 5 yr olds) would fit her. the sleeves are a little tight, the sholder bit is too small, the sides are not wide enought.

its there anything i can do to save it other than frog, i REALLY dont want to frog.
im in a downswing mood/ppd wise, i goes is waves of OK, good and not ok and bad, it doesnt take much to swing me down and i saw the son of the man who attacked my husband last night, he looked in our house, pointed at DH and said summat that i couldt hear and then flipped DH the bird and walked away, it scared the crap out of me that he can be in the street and do that, whats to stop him/his dad doing anything else once court case is over, and i have been spiraling since and its not fun, so i really dont want another failier(sp) making me feel worse, i fail, i fell bad atr my self for being so stupid that i failed, i dont want to ever do anything again incase i fail. sorry thats long winded.

any way doesn anyone know what i can do to my Ballet Wrap to save it. i was thinking of doing a couiple of rows along the inner edge of the front pieces to make it wider, adding a few rows and making sholder end of sleeves wider and hoping for the best.

thanks in advance

I'm not as experienced in crochet as I am in knitting. I wonder if you used a sewing machine to sew to lines along the inside of each sleeve about 1/4" apart - then carefully cut down the middle (between the lines of stitching) and then pick up stitches and begin to work an additional few rows to make the fit better.
Otherwise, I'd say that frogging is really the best way to learn. There's something about learning to take apart and put back together. I've made several items (knit) that I've had to frog several inches back and try again. Those learning experiences are what have helped me to move from beginner to advanced. Those experiences have helped me to better understand the stitches and how I do and do not want them. How large and how small some are.
Looking at this conversion chart, it looks like the sweater was made in what I would know as a double crochet. Those are certainly quicker than single crochet (dc for you). If it were me, I would frog and begin again using either a larger hook (would give a more airy fabric), or, look at the work you've done and measure your guage - then when you begin again - you know your guage and can work the sweater with confidence knowing that you are making the right size.
I'm sorry things are a difficult in life currently. Those times come to us all. I hope they pass soon for you!

What yarn are you using? Have you washed and blocked? Do you like the fabric you've created or would you prefer a slightly looser gauge? Did you get gauge?

its a 100% acrylic baby yarn from LYS it cost ÂŁ1.70 for 100g if that gives an idea of quality.
no i havent washed it yet. i like the way it looks, nice and light and breathable. i didint do a gauge swatch,
it is 2 rows and 4 st to an inchits not all sewn up yet. i figured it was too small after slip stitching one sleeve/side together.

If it's not all sewn up yet I would just add a panel on the inner arm (underside of arm) with a few more rows.

well i gave in an frogged it, and i just winged it on the pattern and it turned out a bit too big but it still looks good on. i just need to make sleeves, a proper tie (just using a chain at the moment) and adjust the back abit so its adjustinble as its a bit wide in the back but she will grow into it hopefully.

will post pics when its been cleaned and i have added sleeves etc

thanks for replys tho
