David Michael Update with Pics!

Hello everyone! I have been missing for a while, but I have a good excuse! David Michael was born May 8th by c/s. The recovery has been hard, but he is healthy as a horse! He was 6pounds 14 oz., and 18.5 inches long. He is only 2 oz. off from my first baby and he looks just like her too! He has a beautiful head full of fluffy white hair, and he smells like a dream! We have been doing tons of skin to skin and just staying connected to each other and it has really helped me cope! Breastfeeding is going ok, but I knew that the same old problems would arise so it hasn't gotten me down this time. Most importantly he is happy and so am I! The doctor followed most of my requests and everyone in the OR was quiet and allowed DH to announce that it was a boy! All in all this has been the best birth I've had, even if it wasn't ideal!

Sorry I have missed so many birth announcements! COngratulations to all the May Mamas that have had their babies! Sorry to do a blanket Congrats!

I know I have said this before but I am so grateful for mothering.com, and all of you ladies! You opened my eyes to a new way of thinking! I didn't leave my baby all bundled up and away from me to keep the nurses happy, I unwrapped my little guy and he stayed on my chest the entire time (minus a heel prick for jaundice) and believe it or not all the nurses respected me for it! SO thank you!

Wow! What a beautiful baby and kids you grow. Glad you're recovering well and enjoying your babymoon. Good for you mama for keeping David close after birth. Get as much R&R as possible.

That first photo with the girls looking at him just cracked me up. It's almost as if they are saying "hum, what to do with this little thing?" Just so cute! What do they think of him?

My girls just love him! My younger daughter was really concerned with his belly button! They sing to him all day and when my oldest daughter held him and he started to cry she sang a song about Mommy's breasts! It was really nice to hear because I am struggling with breast feeding right now! I was worried about 3 kiddos, but right now it is going great (of course DH is still off work with us so the true test will be his first week back to work)!
