So -- I want to buy the cheapest med firmness NATURAL mattresses for my two daughters new twin beds (one will be in a trundle -- due to space issues). We plan to buy them better quality full size beds (( that will last until college and beyond)) when we move is 2-3 years (when they are about 6 and 8). For now though, I just want cheap and chemical-free. Doesn't even have to be latex, actually.
A poster on another thread recommended foambymail.com -- where 100% talalay natutral latex twins are about $260 each (inlcuding shipping). QUESTIONS:
1) Anyone use this company before? Or do you recommend another for similarly priced (under $300) twin chemical-free mattresses (need not be latex).
AND
2) Do you need a SLAT foundation for latex mattresses? Someone at a green living store in my area told me this (for the latex to breath I think?? But mayeb that was with a wool cover??). Anyhow, in a trundle, the mattress goes in a drawer -- not on slats. I called foambymail.com, and they said you don't HAVE to use slats. A drawer bed, or even a platform is just fine. Is this true????
