When did you first get out of the house w/baby?

When did you first start taking your new LO out and about. Not even for very long periods of time, but maybe a trip to the store or something?

Day 3, it was a very short walk. Day 5 was his first outing of any real length, we took the bus to my osteopath apointment.

day 2, moving very slowly. and i've been out every day since. i cannot sit in the house all day with a 4 year old and a newborn, i would go freaking nuts.

Well...we went home from the hospital 12 hours after she was born and went to a ped appt (before I got smart LOL) at 9 a.m. the next day. Went to visit family the next day.

We had a doc appointment when he was a week old. So far we've only taken him out for two doc appointments (plus a hearing test on the same day as one of the doc appointments), a LLL meeting, and one quick trip to drop off my choir music and show him off to choir members. And that is TONS of outings compared to the first 3 weeks after DS#1 was born! I am a total homebody for the first few weeks.

We had the Dr's appointment at day 5 but I just got out today so I guess day 11. I am a hermit crab though!

I think it was about day 5, only bc my mom drug me out of the house so I wouldn't get cabin fever, we got something to eat.

we went out on day 5 to get some stuff to make baby announcements. I went out with him alone on day 7 and that went well too.

We made it half-way down the block on day 2 Then I got really sick for a few days. I took her to church on Sunday- day 8, and later we went to the in-laws. Seems like she wants to nurse all the time, though, so it's hard to get out!

Day 3, grocery store. He slept in his mei tai through the whole thing.

Day 2 we went to my moms group then back to the birthing center for our check up and the chiro. Day 7 we went out to show her off to friends around town. Day 8 was the ped appt. Day 9 moms group again..and back to bc again. Day 10 big brothers graduation. Day 11 BuildaBear with big brothers school trip. Day 15 Chiro appt. Day 16 (today) other big brothers graduation.

With 3 other kids, I so have not sat still more than a day! And summer looks just as busy!..lol

4 days old IIRC? grocery store, DH's work, etc. We went to a relative's baptism (out of state) at 7 days.

We took baby to a ped appt. at 4 days old and then last night, at 9 days old, we went shopping for my other son's birthday at ToysRus. I HAD to get out of the house.

Day 4 to get my mom from the airport (about 35 minutes away). Then, we were out and about for short trips while she was here, because I certainly couldn't stay in the house with three active boys AND my mom 24/7. Now, at almost 3 weeks, we're pretty much back into our normal routine, albeit with much more relaxed standards for the house.

I did purposely stay home those first 4 days, though, to rest and soak up my time with a new babe, even though my birth was pretty easy as far as births go.

Day 2. To the mall where our LC clinic is and then some errands around town. And we've been out several times since too

2 days after she was born, to get her a new car seat (the one we got was defective.) 3 days, to have lunch. Then I was very tired, so I rested for a day and a half. Then dh dragged me out to the mall on day 5, and I was fine.

what kind of mei tei do you have that's good for a newborn? i have one but i dont think it's supportive enough.

babyhawk... it has a nice headrest and ds likes to be upright against my chest as long as we're moving continuously.

We finally ventured out Saturday at 6 DO -- I wanted to get a planter for my front step and herb seedlings for the containers on my deck so we went to the garden center at Home Depot. We also went out yesterday for a bit and we'll probably spend the afternoon outside today since it's so nice out.

With DS we came home on day 2 from hospital and I took him grocery shopping and spent the day at my in-laws on day 3 I think it was.

This time? I am SO babymooning it's actually what I wanted last time and man it is NICE!

I'm contemplating popping over to the neighbors this evening (day 4) since DH won't be home till 8 or 9pm. Otherwise we'll wait till playgroup on Thursday (day 6) so DS1 can do some socializing.
I'm also not planning on any visitors for a few more days either. Ahhhh bliss!
