How well is your little one sleeping??

Elizabeth actually sleeps great at night, she's in bed by about 11pm and wakes about 3-3:30am to eat and goes right back to sleep until about 7am.

It's during the day that she refuses to rest!!

She fights sleep like crazy during the day, you can see her little eyelids getting heavy but she fights to pull them back open like she doesn't want to miss anything. If she does fall asleep she only stays asleep for about 10-15min at a time before she's awake again, this makes for a very cranky baby. The only way she will sleep during the day for longer than 10-15min is if I lay down with her, sometimes I have time to do this but most of the time I don't.

I'm trying not to complain though because she does sleep so well at night!

How is everyone else doing??

DS a lot like that, too. We have a bassinet downstairs that I lay him in, and he'll sleep just long enough for me to fix DD a snack or do a load of laundry, but then he's up again. But he sleeps 2-3 hours from about 9 pm to midnight, so I can't complain too much.

DD is the BEST sleeper at night. We go to bed at about 11 and she has been waking up around 430-5 in the morning. Nurses for about 30 minutes then sleeps again until 730-8.

She has done this since she was born. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop....She doesn't sleep much during the day and pretty much nurses non-stop.

Surprisingly he sleeps great through the night, he wakes twice to eat and then goes right back to sleep !!!!!!

My LO sleeps a LOT!!! Like, he probably is asleep for like half the day, and then from 10 pm to 3 am and 4 am to 7 am at night... I keep wondering if I should worry but everyone tells me to just enjoy it while it lasts! I think he is gearing up for another grow spurt because he has been sleeping a lot today and it seems like about time for that...

About the same as everyone else's babe... He's given me a little bit of time during the day, but mostly 10 minute cat naps. He does sleep at night though.

Typically K goes down between 8-9p and sleeps until 1ish. Then it is a rough go of it because with his reflux he has to be kept upright for a good hour after nursing. So a lot of nights after that first nursing we end up sleeping in the rocker with him on my chest or sitting up on the couch. He is more awake during the day and fights sleep unless in the sling or sleepywrap. We too have a bassinett on the main level but it is not getting used as much anymore...

i have a great sleeper...hate to brag.
She is not quite 3 weeks and wakes 1-2x at night, going to bed at 9 and waking at 1 and 6, then either is awake for awhile or sleeps again until mid morning. she is starting to have more awake time but takes long naps in the day too. she is not fussy and an efficient eater! its so great!

And DS was this way too...i'm so blessed!

I'd say Eden is sleeping decently. At night usually from 11-2 wake up to nurse and then from 2:15- 4:30/ 5:00 ish. then she is up till about 6 nursing and being alert. We can usually get a bit more sleep around 6 until about 7:30 or 8. but not always. She naps from about 12-4 every afternoon without fail but wake up to eat somewhere in the 4 hours, but conks out on the boob and is out for the rest of the time. She fusses once shes up for a few hours and then cat naps in our arms until she has one more nap in the evening.
I seriously thought her sleeping patterns would be a lot harder on me, but i'm getting enough rest. I am more tired then i was before i was pregnant, but less tired then i was during pregnancy.

Yup! Another good sleeper here too. We generally put her down between 9 and 10pm and she sleeps until 3 or 4 and then wakes again around 5 or 6-at which point it's gnerally time to get up anyway in my DH's mind, so we basically count it as waking once a night. We've also had three different incidents of sleeping from bedtime until 5or 6 too. gotta love THAT!

great sleeper here! from the start it's been waking 2-3 times a night to nurse side-lying and go right back to sleep. 2 or 3 one to three hour naps a day. he's down from 10ish until 7ish am. if we want to sleep in he'll doze with us until like 10 after his 6 or 7am feeding.

the past couple of days he's been gassy and uncomfortable, and up later than normal - 1am, 2 am. and slept hard all night - i have to wake HIM to get a little food in - until 10 or 11am.

My LO sleeps pretty well at night. His stretches are getting a little bit longer now. They used to be about 2 hrs now he's going on 4 hours.
He usually takes pretty good naps during the day too.
One morning nap from about 10-12 or so and an afternoon nap from about 2-4
Yesterday was the first day in a while he didn't do that though.
Yesterday he was a crankpot and would only sleep for about 20 minutes if that before waking up crying. Sometimes he'd start crying before he even opened his eyes.
I think it was gas, it was bad yesterday!
How do you mommas with babys who are sleeping almost through the night doing it? I have to wake up even if he doesn't because my boobs are ovreflowing!!!
This morning I had to pump right away. My one boob was like a rock and Levi didn't want anything to do with it, he took one sip and was like "no thank you, I dont feel like drowning this morning!"

I think my LO sleeps pretty well, although he gets very gassy and squirms and grunts alot. I honestly dont know how often he wakes to nurse cause i just latch him on and drift off. I dont love sleeping that way though, because i always have my body in some funky position and often wake up sore (and not well rested)

My DD sleeps well so far. She actually sleeps more than she's awake these days -- she's up for maybe 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours midday, and 2 hours in the evening, and other than that she's asleep! At night she wakes twice just long enough to eat and then she goes right back to sleep.

welllllll...

during the night its great. she still wakes up to eat every 1.5-2 hours, but she only eats for about 5 minutes, and then falls RIGHT back asleep. actually most of the time, she is pretty much sleeping WHILE she eats. sucking vigorously with her eyes tightly shut. she then wakes up anywhere from 7-9am, and then takes a morning nap around 10-11.

so during the night if she goes to bed around 11pm (which is usually the case) she wakes up around 1, 3 and 5, and then is either up for the day at 7, or is up for another feeding. 4 times a night seems like a lot, but it really isn't because the time we actually spend AWAKE is about a half hour or so, with 5 minute feedings, burpings and a diaper change or two. once she's done eating and burped, we just lie back down and we are both fast asleep. gotta love co-sleeping, i never even get out of bed at night because everything we need is on the nightstand.

during the day, she will take her morning nap, and wake up around noon. she is then awake for a good 4-6 hours depending on the day, and then will take another nap. she wakes up around 7-8ish (then has her fussy time for about an hour and a half but that's a whole other issue.) and then is awake till 11, when its bedtime.

total awake time per day, maybe 10 or 11 hours. not so bad. not so bad at all.

I haven't had that happen too bad yet with DS, but with my first, I loved those days because I could pump a bottle for the freezer.

I have woken up with my boobs practically bursting a couple mornings!! Mainly those when Trevor decided to sleep for like 8 hours A couple times he eats like he is starving but there are a couple times I have had to pump in the morning too. I was woken up by my boobs but I just convinced myself to ignore it and go back to sleep!!!

I guess I'm doing better than I thought, because DS sleeps a lot during the day. He generally goes back to bed about 1-2 hours after getting up for the day. That nap is usually 4 hours, but he will wake once or twice in that for nursing. Then he'll follow the pattern of being awake for about an hour before going back to sleep, but I often have to put him in the wrap for the subsequent naps. If I try to do them in bed, I will spend a lot of time in bed with the effort.

At night, I keep him downstairs until I go to bed, but he usually goes to sleep for real around 10:00 so I try to get him changed into his pajamas and nighttime diaper before then. He will generally wake several times at night (it's all a blur, as my 3-year old also wakes up to nurse and I don't really notice all the times that I'm awake) and stay in bed until somewhere between 8 and 10.
