I'm considering buying a used futon from craigslist. Most of the ones I'm finding look fine, but I'd feel much better if I could freshen up the mattress, in addition to washing the cover.
Any advice on how to do this? I've thought of sprinkling baking sode, then sweeping it off. Airing it outisde in the sunshine... any others?
I'm normally not a germaphobe, but this is the one thing that makes me squeemish... the thought of my boys lounging around on someone else's dead skin cells and dust mites. Eew.
