Quick measles help needed.

Do we have references somewhere about treating measles naturally? I am trying to find info for a non-vaxing mama who lives in a country with a huge outbreak right now.

If you were not in the us and there was a big measles outbreak and your kids were not vaxed, is there anyone (in the non-vaxing forum ) that would vax?

I think that vitamin A is necessary and keeping the kids in a dark room. If she was to order vitamin A online is there a specific kind that's best -- cod liver oil? Anything else?
Thanks!!

A couple of my friends' children had measles recently. (There is an "outbreak" here too) Cod liver oil is good for vitamin A. Vitamin C is good to give too (sodium ascorbate). The kids I know who had it were only really ill for a couple of days which they spent in bed - after that they were up and about playing, though they still had the rash.
ETA - also -try not to use any calpol/nurofen/fever reducer if possible. (obviously if the child is really uncomfortable, do but they can prolong the illness - the fever is actually beneficial)

I would order CLO for the Vita A from the link above.

Keep the room darkened WHEN the kids complain of the eyes hurting. Not otherwise.

Don't feed them too much and only when they ask for food.

Leave the fever alone.

Make sure they have a bowel movement when the rash is almost gone (the measles are over).

It's not that awful and nothing to be afraid of. I had the measles and so did all my kids and we didn't know any of this and had no problems with the infection. Just don't let a doctor mess with it.

Would we vaccinate? NO.
