Someone needs her wrists slapped - Page 2

I'm not really "up" on formula brands, but there seem to many more on the market that have a better reputation, both for "quality" of the product as well as marketing practices.

For a BFing mother perhaps who only buys formula to, say, mix with baby cereal or to thin out homemade baby food, I don't see anything wrong with not buying Nestle formula.

Also, just because the formula is not officially part of the boycott doesn't mean that we HAVE to buy it. You can simply not buy it, rather than boycotting it. I personally don't like chicken liver. So I don't buy it. But I don't boycott it.

Denying them Nestle brand formula just because of the boycott could potentially harm the baby which is not the point of the boycott. Punishing the baby serves no purpose.
Um, so people who are already feeding Nestle formula shouldn't have that as part of the boycott, but shouldn't people who end up having to use formula use different brands?

I did the same thing with Juicy Juice. It's right there on the front of the boxes.

I had to supplement (luckily didn't have to completely give up breast) and we did try everything else first it was awful I already had a FTT infant having her projectile vomit with the tons of other brands before I bothered to try the goodstart which for us worked was torture. Honestly I wish I'd tried it sooner cost wise we would have if I hadn't been so against the idea.. I do try my best to avoid all other nestle products though I wouldn't neccessarly say I boycott but I'll deffiently choose the "other" brands first.

again we went through the diffrent brands of simalic enfamil the organic stuff (drawing a blank on the name targets Walmarts albertsons Walgreen CVS several others all with horrible results till we finially found out NGS worked. SO no I don't necessarly agree we must use a diffrent brand.

Oh man--Maggi is Nestle too? Drat! I buy Maggi chicken stock powder--which I probably shouldn't do for perfectly good health reasons anyway.

I was very annoyed to find out Carnation evap. milk was Nestle too. I make a yummy summer dessert with evap. milk and there isn't another brand in NZ that makes it. Plus, I miss Milo--nothing else tastes the same!

I'm happy to report that DH doesn't buy Nestle Double Blend chocolate any more. I sometimes think my breastfeeding waffle goes in one ear and out the other, but then he surprises me.

I have IGT and can only produce an oz of breastmilk MAX per feeding. With my first son, I tried about 6 different types of formula. They made him so sick he would scream for about an hour after he ate. His poop was rock hard and he couldn't poop unless we put a hot water bottle on his belly. Someone suggested using Goodstart because its made differently. It worked like a charm and within 3 days he was pooping normally and happy and no more screaming. So yeah, it would be punishing a baby.

With my new baby we went straight to the Goodstart in case he had the same problems. He ended up getting sick on Goodstart and we can only use Enfamil Gentlease. I tried to give him the Goodstart with probiotics and even one scoop mixed up with the other stuff for a full days worth of food had him spitting up and constipated again. Really, most babies can only tolerate one brand and one type of that one brand.

For what its worth we boycott nestle even though we used the formula for 2 years.
