I'm VERY new to this and have questions

Okay, let me see if I can explain this so that it makes sense. I've had an IUD since I was 8 wks PP. I haven't had a period since August of 2005. I am having the IUD taken out next Thursday. When can I expect my period to come back, or will it come back since I'm still nursing at night? DH and I would like to start charting, but when should I start and how? I am currently reading TCOYF, but I've just started it, like I'm 10 pages in, maybe. Should I start charting with the onset of my next period?

You can start charting right now if you want just to get into the habit of taking your temp every morning. I'm not sure how long it takes after IUD I've heard it's immediate. I would give it at least 2 of your previous 'regular' cycles before you start to worry. I also don't know about the nursing but because you are only nursing at night it will definatly take less time to get your cycle. Also, if you are waking up at night to nurse, be sure to sleep at least 3 hours before you take your temp. Like if LO always nurses at 1am and you get to sleep by at least 10pm I would temp when you wake up to nurse. Or something like that, something regular.
