My six year old's drawings

I am just so proud of this little guy, I had to share.
He is a bit obsessed with drawing. He learns about techniques and then does them over and over until he gets them right. He got to give his first grade class a lesson in how to draw bald eagles.
Anyway, I just wanted to share some of his work. Am I right in thinking it is pretty darned good for a first grader (he can draw better than me and I am an adult, but that is not saying much, lol)
One of his eagles:

And a bowl of fruit

Awesome! My son also draws really well for his age. It is amazing at what they can accomplish when they are so determined to get it right!

That's amazing! That bowl of fruit ought to be framed and hung in your kitchen. Love it!

Agreed! I see some depth in this picture too. Have you ever considered putting him into an art class (if he wants to that is)?

That's fabulous! I second the suggestions to frame some of his art and hang it. It would be worth while to get him some supplies in the art section like some nice paper and some sort of color, maybe just some colored pencils that are a little better than crayola, if you can afford it. My mom has something framed that I did with some good paper and nice quality markers and I was very young so its um, at least 15 yo and it still looks fresh. Notebook paper will yellow & stuff.

Isn't it awesome to see the talent in your kids? My daughter is very musical. She takes piano but she is also a musical learner and very advanced in language. When we are practicing her spelling we sing spell them and she learns them much faster this way.

My son is also showing an interest in language arts - he is in kindergarten and he can spell many words, but he writes very detailed stories. I can't always decipher his phonetics, but he can read it back to me & then I write very small what it says. He has made entire books!

The biggest thing I celebrate in my children is their desire to learn, and how excited they get when they realize they are learning, whether we are doing school stuff, or at the grocery store, or just driving down the road. They make up stories like 'we were doing blah blah blah and this happened' "yeah! and then blah blah blah! "yeah!' Back & forth all the way from my house to their dad's which is a 3 1/2 hour drive.

Kids are so cool!

I think they're wonderful drawings & yes they are good for a first grader.

I've always been proud of my girls drawings, even when my one could only draw a circle.... I thought it was the best circle ever drawn in the whole wide world! I have binders & binders full of their artwork.
