Lladro Statue!

I saw a beautiful statue in the window of our local Lladro store yesterday that stoped me in my tracks (International Mall in Tampa) It is all white, about 18" tall and features a mon snuggling & nursing a decent size baby (Not a newborn for sure). I wouldn't go into the store because I am sure I would have talked myself into buying it & they are not inexpensive. I loved that it was one of only 3 peices featured in the front display. Stunning.

The link shows that the baby is not latched on, but from ANY view other than the one photoed you can not tell that. It is very obviously & beautifully a nursing mom.

Wow - that's great! And, it sure is a beautiful statue. I thought when I saw it that I would have to buy one then I saw the price. I'm thinking I'm going to need to pass until I inherit my first million.

My best friend is pregnant and if I had my firs million she'd be getting that She's been nursing for 7 years now b/t 2 kids. She can correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, that's really beautiful. When I clicked on the link I was expecting something, I dunno, cheesy or something. But that's so classic. If Rodin had ever done a sculpture of a nursing mother, I imagine it would look like that.
Everything else aside, forgetting the scientific health benefits and the emotional security and the lower environmental impact, totally ignoring all that -- nursing is just so beautiful.

Ooooooooooohhhh!! I want this so badly!

My mom has been collecting Lladros for years and for my wedding shower my parents gave me a Llado bell statue of a bride (my grandmother collected bells and gave them to me when she passed away).

I think I'll mention this to my dh. Perhaps in a few years I'll own it.
