We have a midwife!

I'm so excited ... The midwife that was recommended to me turned out to be a total flake : and this week we met with another group of midwives and we feel really comfortable with them. I don't think I realized how much it was affecting me to have everything so up in the air... I feel "safe" now, in a way I can't explain. Must be one of those mama-bear things

That's wonderful! I'm trying to find a Midwife covered by tricare that will do a home-birth. Looks like I'll have to find one willing to travel. There aren't any close by that are covered. Do you think a Midwife would drive 30-45 minutes to my place?

I don't know how it is in WA, but 30-45 minutes is how far the mws are going to drive to do my homebirth, and if I'd gone with the other one she would have driven more like an hour...that's the outer limits of my (and her) comfort zone, though.

Congrats Bella! I hope your relationship with your midwife provides you with the exact kind of care you want.

I'm sure you'll have no problem. Mine are 45 minutes away... in no traffic. Their apprentice m/w who will be licensed right around my due date lives 10 minutes away, so that is good, in the event I go into labor during peak hour.
