42 weeks?! Geez. Do you naturally have past term babies? Maybe the little tike just isn't ready to come out. Or wants to surprise you on Memorial Day. Good luck!

Awww I'm sorry Angela. Wow, and I think I'm uncomfortable. Will you try natural induction methods (castor oil, cohosh, etc) or just wait it out? Will you be "allowed" to wait it out? lots and lots of "come out already" baby vibes : : : : :

Midwife is supportive. I don't think she has a drop dead date. If she does we'll be comfortable ucing.

I won't do anything for a direct induction without medical reason. No castor oil- no way no how. Doing 5W now- seems very mild. (ie not doing anything ) Won't do full on cohoshes without medical reason.

I've eaten 2 pineapples - have a third waiting to be cut

Tried tons of spicy food.

Have sex when the 3.5yr old allows

So I wait....

my babies always take longer too - 43 wks usually. babe will kickstart labour when he/she is ready, and i'm sure he/she will be worth the wait!
do you have a project to keep you busy?

I second the project. Chances are, as soon as you get to the point of no return on the project, BAM! labor!

Don't really have a project.... except that we will be shopping for and buying a new fridge this weekend Don't suppose that counts?

I'll throw in another pitch for the flax seed oil

just don't do borage oil. : when it comes out, the color makes you think it's a lot of bloody show. NOT nice to toy with emotions that way.

in my experience, once your house is really messy and you have laundry everywhere etc, you'll go into labour
this new baby was my longest pg of 3 and she was my shortest labour by at least 19hrs - so your patience may well be rewarded

oh mama! i feel you. my 4 year old was born at 13 days 'overdue.' I'm glad you are not caving to pressure to induce... I found the manipulation to be intense! my midwives had to send me for an OB consult, hopefully you will avoid that. I would just refuse to go knowing what I now know... um, that you can just refuse to go.

Was Savannah early or late?

You could go anytime. Anytime!

I went to beyond 42 weeks with my third baby. My labor was short and his birth was super quick so I hope it is the same for you. You deserve an easy birth for being so patient waiting for your baby!
