I was at Target, walking around nursing dd in the sling and an older woman came up to me and said "I think that's just wonderful that you're nursing her in that. It's just beautiful. You should be so proud!" She totally made my day!

I had a moment like that not long ago. I was at the supermarket waiting at the deli counter nursing my ten month old in the ergo. The women behind the counter said I love to see women nurse thier babies on the go good for you! My DH said soemthing along the lines of yeah and she is still nursing this big guy pointing at my 2 almost three year old. THe woemn in the deli gave me a round of applause! It was great!!! Turned out she is an Ex- LLL leader!

My pediatrician does that every time -- she really makes a point of telling us how great we're doing nursing. Even though part of me is like, "Umm ... yeah, duh, I'm still nursing," I still feel sort of like I got a gold star.

That is so encouraging!!

Whenever I see a nursing mom I always approach her with a smile and tell her, "Lucky baby. Good for you!"

After being harassed (at CHURCH, of all places, AFTER my dd had weaned, so she was nearly 3) I have zero tolerance for crap and I make a point to let ppl know that they're doing the RIGHT thing for their kids.

I love those comments. As to the church thing: I've had comments from older parishoners (sp?) but I've actually had the priest himself defend me and tell me to go right ahead and feed my baby whenever he needs it. I thought it was just great.
