So I lay my baby on her tummy to sleep, do you? - Page 2

I never tried to put my babes to sleep on tummy as I was terrified of SIDS. My dd liked sleeping on her side but she nursed in bed with me that way and both ds liked to be swaddled and put on their back in a sleep positioner. Maybe they would have slept better on their tummies but then I would have had to constantly check them to make sure they were still breathing...

This seems to be the biggest surprise for so many new moms. I remember putting DS1 on his tummy and not telling people, BUT when I found out how many others did it, I was like, SWEET. It didn't take me too long to put DS2 on his tummy too.

that's why i started the thread. i feel no guilt about it but wanted to let other moms know its ok. i mean, we always need to be aware of our LO of course...but...well...hmm.

i read this about the back to sleep campaign
"possible increase the risk of positional facial and head deformities, possible interference with development of good sleep habits (which in turn may have other bad effects), and possible interference with motor skills development (as infants delay attempts to lift their heads, crawl, etc.).
