The "GO ME!" Thread

How about we share some go mes and some yay others and boo others.

Go Me: I shaved my legs last night. After 3 months of neglecting them, I actually shaved them. I had to use DH's beard trimmer first, but at 39 weeks preggo I have smooth legs!

Boo SIL: WTH was she thinking sending me a txt message when I am 9 months pregnant with some pro-life story "written" from the point of a 7 month old "baby" about to undergo a partial birth A. Seriously, I hate people pushing their beliefs on me, but WHAT goes through your head to think that is right to FWD to a pregnant woman?

YAY Kids: My older two kids finished school yesterday for the year and both made honor roll. YAY!

Ehhh on DH: He's being supportive, but at the same time keeps telling me "I have to stay pregnant until X date..." grrrr. He's also been spending too much time playing World of Warcraft. He did go to the store last night at midnight to get me red licorice.

Sweet husband for the red licorice run! Thoughtless SIL! Awesome job the kids have done on school! And what's with shaving - I did it today too for the first time in many months. I'm not that hairy and I get irritated when I shave. I had just let it go for so long that I didn't want to deal with the irritation that would happen. So far it's not that bad.

Maybe shaving is like pre-labor nesting of one's self?? LOL

i shaved my armpits the other day for the first time since october. so far no labor, but maybe it takes a few days go to into effect.

so, yay me for shaving my armpits!

boo everyone else for the "so, no baby yet huh?" comments.

I haven't shaved because we still don't have hot water (got the gas turned on at the new house today, but didn't realize he didn't light the pilot until this evening and I'm not comfortable doing it myself with my clumsy carpal tunnel hands, so I'm waiting for husband to get home and do it), but I bought razors today. I also changed all the hardware on the kitchen cabinets.

Yay, Mom: she listened to me! For years I've been telling her that as much as I appreciate when she sends me flowers/plants, I feel bad when they die or I feel like I have to plant them and they really just result in more work than enjoyment. A few weeks ago she asked me what my favorite flower is and I said "the ones growing outside where they belong, but if you want to have something delivered to the house, I have been getting my produce from a local farm co-op that delivers and that would be a big help so I don't have to pick it up or go shopping" and lo and behold, fresh veggies at my door!

no boos at the moment, but a sort of meh to my good friend who interprets my desire to be home alone and nest as depression. She means well when she keeps inviting me out and wants to come over or have me over daily, she just doesn't really get it.

Go me: I finally tidied up DS's room (he's been "cleaning" it by pushing things under the bed....which I let go for about 2 months) also I'm NOT going back to work until after the baby is born. WooT!

Boo Random Strangers: "Are you sure there isn't two in there?", got that comment TWICE from different people yesterday. I should have responded with "Are you sure you are pregnant? You're looking a little chunky round the middle."

Yay DH: For making dinner, rubbing my feet, giving me lots of smooches and encouragement AND putting up with my grumpy butt.

Yay DS: For being the sweetest lil guy right now! Constant hugs and kisses for both me and his little brother (thru the tummy of course!)

Go me: I shaved too! I also made it through the big choir performance yesterday, which earned me a "hardcore" title from the teens at the synagogue.

Boo everyone I know except DH: The surreptitious calls of "oh hey, just called to say hi... had the baby yet?" have started. :

Yay DH: He suggested changing our voicemail to "If you are calling to check up on us and see if we had the baby yet, please rest assured that you will know as soon as we get the word out. Please do not leave a message. Have a nice day." :

Yay my animals: They are such wonderful stress relievers! Nothing beats a lazy morning with a cat purring on top of you.

YAY for me for getting a ton of things done around here but also taking time to relax and let go of the 'crabbies' and really enjoy and appreciate my boys.

YAY for me for jumping around at Pump It Up last night and playing with the boys. They had a blast that mommy was in there with them.

YAY for DH, who is the most wonderful man in the world and is doing everything he can to make these last few days of my pregnancy enjoyable.

YAY for my MIL for offering to come and help with the boys for a bit tomorrow so we can get some more things done.

BOO for my SIL who complained about the baby gift I got her and for her husband who complained about what we picked up for dinner and made the comment that "Well, when you have your baby we won't be bringing dinner over" Not that I expect them too, but the comment was unnecessary....

Trying to be Zen though and let the negatives go....I want things as peaceful as possible when this baby comes.

Awesome for making it through the performance, I was hoping your baby would be stubborn and come before your commitment, but I am glad s/he waited and let you do what you needed to do.

Your DH is great, I am so glad no one is calling, I would probably get snippy with them.

I woke up to my sweet old kitty purring on top of me, it was wonderful and I agree they are great for stress relief.

Oh wow, how rude of your SIL & her hubby to complain.

Awesome for getting so much done and being able to still play with your kids! That is amazing, I get tired just watching my boys play!
