supportive workplace

I just gotta tell you all how supportive the nursing & rehab facility I volunteer at is with me nursing a toddler!
Angela has been coming to work with me for the past month. I had to ask permission to bring her everyday that I volunteered, but they said no problem as long as I kept her behaved (which was pretty easy). I just bring several toys, books, snacks, ect. with me and we keep all the stuff in a large diaper bag in the activity directors office. If she get's tired, she'll just climb into her Baby Trekker sling and sit on my lap and sleep while I wheel around doing my work.
Anyway, one day, when I was on my lunch break, I had Angela in the employees lounge with me eating lunch when she asked me if she could have "sissy juice" (her new word for breastfeeding). I asked her if she could hold on for another half hour, but she insisted. So, I sat her on my lap and she nursed discretly while I ate my lunch and studied my CNA textbook. Several other staff members were in the lounge at the time and more came and left. No one was rude to me when they saw me nursing a 3 year old, and I even got a couple positive comments from some of the nurses, saying that it was nice to see a mom breastfeeding longer than 1 month, especially nursing a toddler. One lady even told me that Angela is probably healthier than her toddler, because she was breastfed past infancy.

These comments made my day! Have any of you had positive breastfeeding's/pumping sessions at work?

Isn't it nice working in a supportive environment? I work for a government agency and when ds was a baby, everyone just assumed I would be pumping at work (all the other ladies did) so I never needed to arrange anything special or made to feel bad for taking breaks to pump. When I had office work to do, ds could come along and I had no issues when he needed to nurse. But what I find the most shocking (in a positive way) is the fact that even though ds is 19 months now pretty much everyone at work asumes that he is still nursing even though I don't pump anymore. It's so great to be met with that assumption especially when I start feeling self-conscious about nursing a toddler. It really picks me up!
