How scary.

Oh and I'd write a scathing letter to your Drs office and have a copy of the xray over. What a moron.

Glad your LO was okay!

My dd swallowed some very small beads once... I rescued them a few days later.

So glad she's okay.
When my ds was about 11 mos he started to get a really bad diaper rash around his anus. Like his poop was suddenly totally acidic but his diet hadn't changed. 2 days later, I found a penny in his diaper. Your story is way scarier -- good for your mom for figuring it out!

I'm glad she's ok. How scary!

Eek! Wasn't there a joke about this?

When your first child swallows a nickel you freak out and take them to the doctor and demand every exam and x ray in the book.
When your second child swallows a nickel you wait carefully for it to pass.
When your third child swallows a nickel you deduct it from their allowance.

In all seriousness, I am glad she's okay!! Sorry she had to go through such a traumatic experience!

That was very stressful. I'm glad she's okay now.

Oh my goodness.

My dd swallowed a safety pin one day, I about DIED! I called the doctor and spoke w/ the receptionist about it (so she could pass the message to the doc) and we laughed about my fear of her stomach muscles being super-strong and opening the pin. (I really hoped that I was being ridiculous, but I was also pretty nervous that I'd be right!) I never saw the pin in her diapers (looked for a week!) so she did end up getting an x-ray, which was clear, so she must have passed it and I didn't notice.

Wow, that is so scary. I'm so glad you followed your gut, and that your mom did too.

So glad baby is OK! What a horribly frustrating and scary experience for all of you!

I'm waiting to hear the "I called the NP up today and told him he was a real UA violation" update.

Glad she is ok.

I found an acorn in DS's diaper when he was about 12 months old. He had a tendancy to sneak thing into his mouth whenever we were outside. Fortunatly he seems to be outgrowing this.

Oh gosh, what a horrible experience for everyone. I'm so sorry this happened. My babe is about the same age as yours, and I can just imagine how scary it was for you and for her.
