She took her sweet time

But my daughter, Shanna Francesca, arrived yesterday after a marathon 49 hour labor. We planned a homebirth, but after 40 hours I needed sleep more than I needed to be stubborn about what physical location I was in when I pushed my daughter out.

It took over 3 hours of pushing. The epidural medication ran out when I had more than an hour remaining of pushing.

No regrets. She's wonderful. She's also 8 freakin pounds. My crotch hurts.

Congrats mama! My first labor was loooong, and it is hard, hard, hard! I'm impressed you lasted 40 hours!

May I ask how you're pronouncing her name?
