Recycle question- tagboard things and caps too

I have a duh question, but want to make sure... Milk cartons can't be recycled right? And you know the frozen tagboard boxes, like the kind Morningstar Farms come in? You can recycle the ones where the stuff inside is packaged separately (like the faux-sausage patties) but not the ones where the food touches the box (lke the faux-corn dogs). Is that right?

Oh and jar tops- can those go in with the metal recycle things or are they a no-go because they have coating on them?

I feel like I have a pretty good handle on recycling mostly, but some items confuse me time to time....

If you have any other things one might think they can recycle but ought not or vice-versa, please share!

We can recycle all those things in our city, but yours might be different.

Oh yeah- also what about plastic baggies and ziplock bags and stuff? Can they go in with the plastic?

And what about used aluminum foil? Like if it has baking spray stuck t it? Probably a no right?

In my city, plastic baggies are a yes but not if they have the zipper. Used aluminum foil is okay here if you rinse it off.

Most cities/towns have a handout that shows pictorially what can & cannot be recycled in your collection. It varies quite a bit. I could recycle milk cartons in Ottawa but not in Arnprior - it's only 20 minutes away.
