What can I do with this ball of wool?

So we went to a groovy farm market yesterday and I picked up a ball of wool. I just couldn't resist. But now I have no idea what to do with it. I am not very talented in the crafty arena. I can sew but am not great at it. I have had my hand in a few different things (sewing, beading with hemp string, etc.) but am not "good" at any of it. So I can't do anything that takes a lot of skill. I do not have the tools to do needle felting. I would love to make something useful though (as opposed to just a nic nac to sit on a shelf and gather dust). Any ideas for a beginner?

Spun wool for knitting with? Or unspun roving?

I'm not very familiar with the terms but it definitely isn't yarn. So I'm going to say it is the other.

How about trying needle felting? I've never tried it, but it looks fun and simple. I have some roving that I've been wanting to learn to spin, but have yet to master it.

here's a link for one pattern http://www.mielkesfarm.com/ladybug_dir.htm
I'm not sure what color you have but if you try googling needle felting patterns, you might find something!

Assuming that it's roving that you have, you could make some balls. Here's a tutorial.

You can put a little jingle ball in the center if you want and then you have a jingly ball!

Wool felting

You can wet felt it or dry (needle) felt it if it is roving.

I also have some projects listed here. Look under toys, wool felt and in the garden for felted projects.
