It felt SO good to be needed AGAIN!

My cousin gave birth to twin girls two weeks ago. She is a HUGE lactivist and was adamant on nursing them both. She visited me over at my house this a.m. to get ready for our Memorial Day cookout. I am currently on WEEK 4 of a nursing strike with my 11 month old and have tried EVERYTHING to get her to nurse with no luck at all. I have been struggling with this and we were talking about all the techniques I have tried and how much I miss nursing. While talking, her girls got hungry and she began to nurse one of them. She only feels comfortable nursing one at a time right now so I was holding Joley while she was feeding Belle. While she was feeding her daughter my cousin whispered "If you want you can feed Joley, I would not mind. I know how you have been struggling with a nursing strike." :She latched right on and I GOT TO NURSE AGAIN! Her little tiny head fit right into my hand and she wrapped her tiny fingers around hand like my own daughter does. My eyes welled up with tears as I looked at her drink and then close her eyes as she drifted into that milk sleep. Oh, mamas it was so special and neat to nurse a little tiny baby again. The only thing better would have been if I could have nursed my own baby again. I am so glad my cousin let me do it and I had to share with you all. I have nursed my friend's baby once but it was not nearly as special as this. What a gift! I just wanted to share..:
