Flouridosis?

I'm concerned because DS first "big tooth" has come in and it looks brownish and has ridges and a bumpy top. I've been wondering about this for a couple of weeks, and have meant to do a bit of research, but so far haven't.

Today, we received the chemical analysis back on our well water, and it shows that the flouride content is 1.6 mg/L, and that the Maximun Acceptable Concentration is 1.5 mg/L. They also enclosed a pamphlet that said that "optimum levels for dental health" are between 0.5 and 1.0 mg/L. The pamphlet also listed the symptoms of flouridosis as yellowish/brownish teeth (especially in newly emerging secondary teeth), and ridges on the teeth.

The thing is, we don't normally drink the water here as it tastes yucky, but I do know that DS will drink it from the tap while he's in the bathtub, and he quite often swallows instead of spitting when he rinses after brushing his teeth. I don't think it could be much that he's drinking...surely no more than a cup a day! Otherwise, we drink bottled RO water...awaiting a call back to find out what the flouride content is there. Is anyone in the know about this?

I'm assuming you don't have him brush with fluoride toothpaste or get other fluoride treatments?

Has he had any cavities or decay in his primary teeth?

No, he doesn't use a flouride toothpaste, but he did have his first flouride treatment at the dentist 6 months ago or so. He had a small cavity appear when he was three, but at that time I started reading about CLO, and began to supplement him. The cavity has not changed since (3-4 years).
