for reals!

well, maybe there was no one to tell her she needed to, and since there'd been no babies for awhile, maybe she hadn't seen it modeled? but I had the same thought, watching the movie...if you want the baby to be quiet there's a sure fire way!!!

Movies like this are the reason why I wish I knew what the books were first that they were adapted from. So I could read the book first.

For a movie, firstly it was too hyped for me. I knew I *had* to see it, then I saw it, and it was good, but I didn't get out of it what was there b/c everyone told me I'd LOVE it and HAD to see it. So when I did, I was like, yeah good.....

Had I read it first, maybe I would have taken the idea out there in my brain more.

It was good, well done, shot incredibly (remember why the cam lense was dirty-b/c they did it all in one take? That is pure genius and neato in a movie, and forever always will be good stuff in cinema, but well, it wasn't the car chase in the French Connection, now was it?).

That's even worse than my Clockwork Orange story. I set my best friend up on a blind date while we were in high school. We decided to make it a really low key movie-watching double-date at her house. And then I, unknowingly, picked A Clockwork Orange as the movie. Yeah, nice first date movie. Such a pleasant change from the comedies that most people would have selected.

I'm amazed she still speaks to me...

I didn't find the film that bad. But with what I have read here, I might well read the book too.

I just called my library and they are going to get the book from a nearby library for me to read.

I really wanted to see this movie, I did and it was mostly disappointing.

I am hoping the book will make more sense.

I did love Michael Caine's character.

I had never even heard of it before it came up on my HBO or whatever lineup. I kind of live in a cave or something

So, for me, it was just one of those movies that have sort of a cool sounding title, I decided to try it out and loved it.

I think this goes on my list of Top Ten Movies *NOT* to Watch While Pregnant.

Still, a good film. Might have been less emotionally difficult if I didn't have a bun in the oven. I really want to read the book to see how much better it is.

Add "Or recently given birth" to that. I watched it when dd was a few months old and was very upset by it, especially the end with the baby.
