Sorry I've been MIA. Ended up having baby this past week (tues 5/20). LONG hard labor. (went into labor Friday (5/16) night, got intense Saturday night and all day Sunday. Monday pushed for over 9 hours - 5hours first straight thru as much as I could, then took a couple hours off and stayed in birthing tub to rest thru contrax, then pushed hard for another 4+ hours when we all decided baby just couldn't/wouldn't descend below 0 station no matter what we did.) Baby did great thruout labor and pushing, never dropping heart rate below 120, never above 153. . . so we thought it was best while we were still in optimal condition (although i was pretty darn tired by then!) to do drive to grant hospital and get c/s.
Baby born Tuesday May 20, 2008 around 1am. Apgars 8,9.
I just got out of hospital Friday. I'm real sore and hurting you know how it is with surgery. . . I'm optimistic I'll feel more like me next week sometime.

Bethany Lynn is her name. (named after BettyAnn's mom, Elizabeth, and Darren's Aunt Jennie (her middle name is Lynnette). This name means: God is my oath, torch or bright light/pretty one.

PS I am so glad I got the chance to go for a home birth. Even though it didn't work out, it was such a good experience and so hard at times, too (labor hurts, lol!) ! And honestly, although I'm kind of thinking I may truly be one of the few folks who truly can't push babies out, I want a midwife again if I choose to have another baby (I always did want four kids) - knowing that I'd be having a c/s once labor started (I'd at least want baby to choose birthday). ..
