my bag of waters is leaking UPDATE: POST 1

i had a nice gush at 7 am and a little more here at about 8:30. i know i didnt piss my pants. i got up around 5:30 and got to do my business. yay! no contractions yet. does anyone know how to make the labor kick in quicker. i dont want to go to the hospital until i am in active labor. and how long should i wait to call the midwife to let her know labor has not kicked in yet. i dont want to get a piticon induction at all.


ADDED:
I started getting contractions around noon and they are getting stronger. it is really weird that i will be having a baby so soon. i thought for sure this would be a june baby.

Well, you could just not stick anything in your vagina, and don't take a bath, and don't tell anyone yet, b/c when they know your water broke, they start counting. And if you finally have to tell, fudge the time that it broke to give yourself more time. I think they used to be fine waiting 4 days after ROM, so you would not be doing anything dangerous, as long as you paid attention to hygiene and baby.

First of all, congrats!!

My mw was fine waiting several days (at least 48 hrs) after my water broke, although it didn't take that long, thankfully. She suggested taking vit C to stave off infection (I think it was 200 mg every 4 hrs, or something like that), and said she wanted to know if I developed a fever. Of course, nothing in the vagina. I was also doing regular hibiclens washes (it's an antibacterial soap) because I was GBS+.

But I agree with Galatea. Unless you have any signs of infection, there's no need to rush things. Hope those ctxns start soon for you .
